Backlit dashboard, minimalist design, a feeling of complete balance while driving or the highly advanced Planar chassis system with unique wheel suspension technology, which is the first of its kind in the world. This is just a taste of the luxury features that the new Ghost model will surprise you with.

Ghost builds on its successful predecessor

The new Ghost builds on the older Goodwood Ghost, which has become the most successful model in the brand's 100-year history since its launch in 2009. It became popular with the public mainly for its timelessness. This time, Rolls-Royce listened to the wishes and demands of the public again. People were calling for a more minimalist design and they got what they asked for.

The new model is dominated by minimalism

The Ghost model is the purest expression of the essence of Rolls-Royce to date. It is a beautiful, minimalist and simultaneously highly complex distillation of the brand's values, which is in perfect harmony with the ideas of Ghost's customers as well as with the time we live in.

Sense of balance while driving

To ensure a sense of complete balance when driving the new Ghost, the brand's acoustic team focused primarily on adapting the architecture of the patented aluminum frame. This in itself brings better acoustic properties compared to steel, thanks to both the material used and the application of complex molds and profiles instead of flat, resonant surfaces.

To insulate the cabin from the already silent twelve “V” cylinder engine with an engine capacity of 6.75 l, the designers chose a double-walled partition. Special cavities in the roof, luggage compartment and floor are filled with more than 100 kilograms of sound-absorbing materials. Furthermore, double-skinned windows with a central clear composite sheet were used, as well as tires fitted with an inner four-inch layer of lightweight acoustic insulation foam.

The dashboard will take you high up to the stars

Other features include a backlit instrument panel, which was created in a two-year process and required a total of 10,000 hours of work. The result is an elegant dashboard with a glowing Ghost logo, surrounded by more than 850 stars. The whole constellation as well as the logo are located on the passenger side of the dashboard, and when the car's not in use, they are completely invisible. This innovation subtly reflects the starry sky in the roof liner, called Starlight Headliner, which has become part of Rolls-Royce's iconography just like the Spirit of Ecstasy, the Pantheon Grille radiator grille or the "Double R" monogram.

The first technology of its kind in the world

One of the key points in the creation of the Ghost model was also the Planar chassis, which consists of three elements. The first is a shock absorber suspended above the front cushioning for an even more stable and easier ride. The result of three years of development is the very first technology of this type in the world. The second part is the Flagbearer system, which uses cameras to capture the road ahead and prepares a suspension system for possible changes in the road surface. The third element is an auxiliary system that draws GPS data from the satellite and selects the appropriate gear for the upcoming turn. Thanks to the Planar system, the new Ghost can anticipate and react to even the most demanding road surfaces.

It will visit Prague next week

The new model will also be presented live in Prague next Thursday, September 10, at 10 am in the Hauch Gallery. More photos of the Ghost car can be found in the gallery at the end of the article.
