The most prestigious beauty contest Schwarzkopf Elite Model Look has been held in the Czech Republic and Slovakia since 1991. Every year, there is an increase in the interest of young girls and boys to shine on the world's catwalks in luxury clothing by renowned designers, just like Linda Vojtová or Denisa Dvořáková before them.
Since last year, an increase of 22 % has been recorded, which is a lot, compared to the maximum of 7 % in the previous years. According to the director of the agency Saša Jány (for interview click HERE), girls are much more prepared for the competition thanks to social networks, among other things.
15 castings took place in 14 Czech cities. "We’ve seen 1860 participants and another 600 through online applications. External talent seekers will find approximately 400 people," Jány calculated, adding that in the larger cities that generate a lot of applicants, fewer talents are usually chosen.
Everyone has to go through an admission interview by agency representatives. There are experts on site to advise the applicants how to take care of their hair and show them how to quickly and easily style it for every occasion, even a luxury one.
"Every year there is something to discover, we’ve found many interesting faces this year," Jány rejoices.
"A girl must be at least 13 years old to participate. In order to be adequately mentally prepared, we usually need at least a year of preparations. The necessary height is 170 cm," Jány explained.
Only those girls who are at least 16 years of age get into the national finals. To work in Milan, Paris or London, they must be at least 174 cm tall.
Boys must be at least 16 years old and 183 cm tall.
The final evening will take place, as per tradition, at the end of August in the luxurious Spanish Hall of Prague Castle.
