From covering to bearing

A great deal has already been said about the patchwork method, the sewing of small, multi-colored pieces of fabrics to create geometric patterns. Paul Surridge, the Creative Director of Roberto Cavalli, has recently come up with a method of applying it to snake skin. Since last year, the designer has moved from midi to maxi to mini, so it's clear that the SS19 is not a recapitulation and a reminder of the past, but a show of innovation, glitter, new techniques.

Luxury designs decorated with paillette embroidery

In Milan, Paul Surridge introduced hand-woven models of leather and silk, as well as pieces decorated with pailette silver embroidery. Decorating with tiny glossy items was applied to luxurious dresses, jackets, coats, shorts and tops.

The balance of Roberto Cavalli

Designs from the SS19 collection are characterized by a straight line, casual elegance, refinement and perfect balance. The accessories are courageous, timeless, stylish and at the latest fashion week, Paul Surridge has introduced, among other things, handbags with a new logo.

These were the hits for us!

Which pieces captivated our editorial staff? Those silver-futuristic ones worn by Bella Hadid or Meghan Roche. Another great sensation for us was the beige mini dress with a round neckline in the front, which in combination with a shiny claret shirt under her breasts, was worn by Yasmin Wijnaldum. The luxurious ankle boots with an open toe, which the model combined with it, only underlined this act of perfection.

Elle Macpherson could jump in immediately

Australian model, actress and businesswoman Elle Macpherson, nicknamed "The Body.", also came to the luxury fashion show Roberto Cavalli SS19. She looks great even in her fifties, so if Robert Cavalli had lost one of his models before the show, we have no doubt that the replacement would be a no-brainer!

Wearable outfits for next season's parties!

Roberto Cavalli's SS19 show is at first sight a series of outfits for next season's cocktail parties. What's more, everything is wearable and nothing bizarre appears in it. And I am very pleased with this, because some designers let a little too "loose" at the Milan fashion week.

Personally, I was most intrigued by a dress reminiscent of an over-sized long sleeve shirt with black-silver sequins. Surely there is nothing revolutionary about it until you see the quilted transparent shorts with black ornaments. They add to the whole outfit a certain futuristic impression. Black ankle boots with an open toe, on the other hand, add sex-appeal. For a drink in the middle of the week or a ladies' night in Prague's "Bermuda Triangle" in the Old Town, it will surely be perfect!

What, on the other hand, totally disappointed me, is, for example, the mustard yellow dress with one off shoulder that reveals the belly button. They are so ordinary and lacking of an idea that I would drop them from the SS19 collection immediately. They do not look like something from the legendary Roberto Cavalli workshop, but as a cheap piece made in China and then sold somewhere in the C&A chain.

You can find the HIT and FLOP of this collection according to Ornella at the beginning of the gallery under the article.
