If we were to attempt to classify Prague 6, the Podbaba location, it would be a difficult task. This part of Prague has abundant greenery, full civic amenities and a dense transport network. It has never been so easy to live fully, luxuriously. Housing in this luxury location leads to a peaceful life in privacy. Some of the residences are even inaccessible to the real estate market, as they are inherited from generation to generation. It will satisfy mostly those clients who are willing to pay extra for the appropriate luxury.
Podbaba is located around the course of the Šárecký and Lysolajský creek below Baba mountain. The mountain is probably named after the Slavic goddess of rainclouds – Baba. It is a landmark formed by a striking rock crest on the left bank of the Vltava River. The area is one of the richest habitats for insects species in Prague. Whoever is not interested in the fascinating entomology and is more romantically oriented can visit the 19th century Baba ruins.
After 1848, the cadastral municipalities of Lysolaje and Sedlec along with the settlement Podbaba formed the local area.
This luxury location boasts a new railway stop since 2013, or an unconventional road layout, especially for buses. These must fit into the so-called "little tunnel", a demanding turn alomg the rock overhang, which requires a substantial amount of skill.
The enormous advantage of this locality is the possibility of doing sports activities or simply taking beautiful walks along the Vltava river. Thanks to the ferry you can easily reach the other bank, where there is a cycle route and a inline skating track.
Podbaba also houses the T. G. Masaryk Water Research Institute, located by the river.
The bottom line is that the people living in this area experience their lives in a beautiful setting.
