Until the very last moment, Fashion enhusiasts, designers and young beginning talents have been impatiently and anxiously waiting to find out whether Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week would take place this year at all. Now they can rejoice! The four-day celebration of fashion began with a magnificent visual show of the successful fashion designer Liběna Rochová in the premises of the Monastery of St. Gabriel in Smíchov. Of course, we from LP-life.com couldn't miss this spectacular event. We were very interested to find out all the news regarding this year's Fashion Week and asked our celebrities about their opinions.
As per usual, there will be no shortage of famous and scarce personalities from the fashion industry at the MBPWF this year. And in addition to the plethora of well-acclaimed as well as beginning artists, you can look forward to two new perks. The first is the option to buy selected pieces from the FW20 collection right there and then, and the second is the fact that due to health measures, the organizers decided to merge the spring and autumn editions into one this year.
"I'm very glad that, after the long isolation, I can finally socialize agian, and that I can be here. I'm really looking forward to seeing my friends and acquaintances. I hope things stay this way and we'll be able to move forward,"
told us Simona Krainová, who arrived in a black jumpsuit from the Bernardt Prague workshop. TV host Gábina Partyšová is of a similar opinion.
"I find this combination of two collections very interesting. But in this time of Covid-19, we have to be grateful that we can all meet here and enjoy a good drink. It's important that we appreciate that we don't have to be locked up at home. I think the organizers have done a great job and thank goodness that this celebration of fashion could take place,"
told us the presenter, who arrived in a blue dress from Zuzana Lešák Černá.
Time will show
Although all guests had their temperature taken before they stepped into the grounds of the Monastery of St. Gabriel and close eye was kept on face mask wearing in inside spaces, the overall atmosphere was relaxed. The visitors looked like they were having a great time and were excited about what this year's festival would bring them.
"I am very glad that, with all measures against Covid-19, this week can take place at all. Fashion is largely influenced by what is happening in the society, whether it's Covid or something else. It's important to monitor how much it affects the fashion industry, but I don't have an answer to that yet. I think it will take a little longer to show,"
Libuše Šmuclerová shared with LP-Life.com.
MBPFW will run in Prague until 11.9. 2020 and in addition to the collections of Lukáš Krnáč, Tereza Vu, Zoltán Tóth and other great designers, you can also look forward to the Van Graaf Junior Talent competition, during which the future rising star of the fashion industry will be announced.
