This season, designer Antonio Berardi returns to his roots and draws inspiration from his wonderful parents in the S/S 2018 collection. He follows up on and continued their work. His parents emigrated from Sicily to London and wanted to look their best, so they reworked the clothing they had and their creative ideas got them all the way to the world’s best Fashion Weeks. “They were incredibly poor, relying on relatives in American to send them boxes of used clothes.”
We can recall their method in the outfits of the Prince of Wales, who wore interestingly tailored attire which was unique and fresh. Berardi even created an evening gown in this handcrafted style, which was black and white and embellished with luxurious lace. We love the asymmetry of every piece, which makes it look entirely original.
The luxurious S/S 2018 collection from this brilliant designer is for every woman who loves originality and elegance. The colourful and sophisticatedly tailored articles, like dresses, skirts, jackets and other fashionable items, are so interesting that you’ll want to own them all. Not matter if it is a luxurious evening gown, refined and incredibly sexy, or an outfit suitable for the office or an important meeting.
Most women love simple colours, which are the basis of every wardrobe. These include black and white, and those are precisely the colours Antonio didn’t forget about, creating most of his items in these tones. Fortunately, he didn’t leave out irresistible and sexy red, which is simply a must this spring and summer and should not be missing from your closet. We like the combination of several delicate natural tones, which looks refined and luxurious.
It seems that Antonio Berardi promised all his fans that he would create a collection that underscores the beauty of every office mouse in the world. I simply cannot figure out how Antonio came up with the idea that grey-brown outfits with giant vests could look good on anybody…
Do you want to be invisible and look undesirable? Then you’re at the right address? I even asked my husband for his entirely unbiased male opinion. He said “If she were wearing something like that, I wouldn’t even notice Julia Roberts when she was young…” Yes, dear ladies, these words accurately state the cruel truth.
But to avoid being an uncompromising executioner, I will admit there is one item in the collection that I would wear. It’s the black, rock & roll kissed dress with the almost sheer skirt and lacy neckline. Ideal for an after party with Metallica or Standa Hložek.
