A new Czech fairy tale for the whole family – Čertí brko – enters cinemas on November 29th. Judit Bárdos , Jan Cina and Ondřej Vetchý will play the leading roles . We have a first song for you.
The devil's quill, who gave the name to the whole fairy tale, is used in hell to write sins of people. When the quill of the hell branch in Pytlov stops working, Lucifer sends the young devil Boniface to bring a new one. However, the quill is stolen from him by a local swindler which triggers a chain of events during which Boniface has to deal with cunning and scamming villains of Pytlov, as well as help Lucifer to get the heart of the beautiful Markéta.
"I like movies such like The Incredibly Sad Princess with original art stylization and excellent songs. Even in our fairy tale we have three songs and I think they are hits, " said the director Marek Najbrt.
One of the great songs is the duet of Boniface and Markétka, played by Jan Cina and Judit Bárdos. "I've probably never played in a movie where I had to sing, so it's a great experience, and the song is so beautiful, so it's a joy. I hope that one of the reasons why people will like this fairy tale will be the songs, " says Judith Bárdos.
The fairy tale promises a return to the past, when the real fairy tales of high quality and glamor were filmed. Whether Čertí brko ranks among the Czech classics, such as Three Wishes for Cinderella, The Third Prince or Give the Devil His Hue, will be seen on November 29, when the fairy tale enters the Czech cinemas.
In addition to the leading roles of Jan Cina and Judith Bárdos, Marián Geišberg plays Markétka's father, Tomáš Jeřábek and Jiří Maryško play the coons, the residents of Pytlov are Marek Daniel, Jana Plodková and Michal Dalecký. In hell, we will find Václav Kopta or Jakub Žáček.
Production was supported by the State Fund of Cinematography and the Slovak Audiovisual Fund, the Plzeň Region and the Vysočina Region. The project also received Eurimages support. The fairy tale will be featured by Falcon distribution company.
