Ross Smith and his grandmother made the audience laugh
The Fun & Entertainment category includes influencers able to cheer up and entertain the public. The award went to the American duo of Ross Smith and his ninety-two-year-old grandmother. With their witty sketches, they show the world that age is just a number and encourage young people to spend more time with with their parents and grandparents. At the awards ceremony, Ross joked that he was so nervous that he would probably have to take pills against high blood pressure, while the grandmother responded:
"Let's have a Hell of a party tonight!"
She turned her handicap into a trademark
The Social Impact & Change category includes influencers who aim to improve the world and set a positive example. The winner was Brazilian model Paola Antonini, who'd tragically lost her leg and turned this disdvantage into a benefit. She decided to share the award with Madeline Stuart, a model with Down syndrome who placed second.
In the Inspiration & Influence category, reserved for influencers, who inspire us with their creativity and originality, the South African television star Bonang Matheba won.
Rising star is a category for social network novices looking for new themes and original ways of self-expression. The first place belonged to Vivien Alexy from Hungary, the winner of the Cosmopolitan Blogger Awards, who got the Go Global Wild Card from fan voting, which propelle dher directly into the nominations for the Global Social Awards finals.
