Like most luxury brands, Viktor & Rolf also presented its new collection of Haute Couture, which is full of colours and flowers. Any woman who likes optimism will fall in love with the collection at first sight, because there has been nothing so exuding joie de vivre for a long time.
Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren created the entire collection from one single type of fabric, from irresistible Japanese satin with thanks to its sheen enables the creation of luxurious and charming fashion.
It seems to us that the fashion house, Viktor & Rolf, drew inspiration from some beautiful blossoming garden, because his models look like an irresistible summer or green garden, full of colourful flowers. That is why every woman will fall in love with the collection. It will give us the so needed life optimism, thanks to the strong colours, such as yellow, red, pink, violet, blue, peach and others. Flowers are a part of some luxurious satin dresses, giving them flair and some accent. They however also adorn some masks, not just by the blossom, but the stem, too. One could say that this is where fashion meets art.
Apart from large blossoms, the collection was dominated also by patterns to which the designers paid a lot of attention. They used colourful stripes, diamond shapes, diagonal lines, squares and other interesting shapes. We were most impressed by the intertwined satin strips that in the final result create an effect of a perfect grid. Red and blue colours were used to create a beautiful, striking dress and combination of delicate apricot and white was used for a stunning, subtle dress for any summer or spring day.
Viktor and Rolf really knew no bounds. I am just thinking that perhaps they misunderstood the task. This is supposed to be Haute Couture? It all seems to me like a selection of costumes for some horror theatre play, or a Big Top ... God knows.
It first started by artificial flowers like from a Vietnamese market (the satin skirt didn´t help) and continued by crazy collars and frills. Ugh!!! I would not put that on if you paid me.
The only wearable thing appeared at the very end. Light blue mini satin dresses with a giant bow on the left shoulder. A summertime christening party would be an ideal event where to were such a delicate dress. If you are looking for an ideal church in the center of Prague I will give you a tip; the magnificent church of Saint Francis of Assisi is located in the Křižovnické square. I myself was christened here.
