Yesterday, the Prague City Council approved a proposal to provide subsidies under the Leisure Time Support Program, donating a total of 41 million crowns. Subsidies in the field of leisure time for children and young people typically include measures as well as events that may not take place due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, a certain loosening of government measures is expected within the framework of grant support.

"Subsidies to support children's leisure activities play a very important role in ensuring the financially demanding operation of individual children's and youth clubs and groups,"

said the councillor of the City of Prague for the field of education and sports Vít Šimral. This program also supports one-time events in Prague and the organization of multi-day events. This will allow children to spend their free time in the countryside outside the city.

The obligation to wear an FFP2/KN 95 respirator or two surgical masks will apply from midnight from Wednesday to Thursday. The Minister of Health, Jan Blatný, had originally announced that it would be mandatory to wear them starting today. Respiratory protection will be required in shops, medical and social facilities, public transport, at the airport and in the car (in case the passengers aren't members of the same household).

Children under the age of 15 have an exception, since, according to Blatný, there are not enough respirators available to them. However, they have to wear at least a medical face mask or a nanofiber mask, not a home-made one. For example, children under the age of two or pupils in kindergarten and boarding schools don't have to have their nose and mouth covered. Furthermore, the obligation does not apply to hospitalized patients and healthcare professionals while providing assistance. Public transport drivers, actors, dancers and presenters also fall into this category.

Dozens of people came to say goodbye to the former journalist and long-time head of the Czech Television's sports department, Otakar Černý (he died on February 15, 2021). Jaromír Jágr, Robert Záruba and Pavel Zuna were among those who visited the Church of St. Wenceslas in Kladno. The funeral took place under strict hygienic measures.

According to the available information, he has been battling a severe disease for a long time, having lost a considerable amount of weight several times.

"I spoke to him regularly every week. He kept giving us constructive comments on shows and broadcasts,”

said commentator Michal Dusík, adding that they had planned out work together for years to come. He had been working on Czech (or, at that time, Czechoslovak) television off and on since 1969. He even participated in the launch of an independent sports channel, ČT sport.

For the first time since the announcement of Meghan's second pregnancy, the couple has appeared in public - although only virtually. They attended “Spotify’s Stream On” together yesterday to present their new podcast “Archewell Audio”. According to Markle, they have started this project mainly to give space to voices that otherwise couldn't be heard. The first interview will take place on March 7 with Oprah Winfrey, which will be their very first common project.

Meghan Markle chose a dress by Oscar de la Renta with a citrus print for 77,000 crowns for the virtual event. She complemented the dress with simple gold jewellery and slightly wavy hair. Harry wore a white shirt with dark pants at the event.

The United States has surpassed the frightening milestone of half a million Covid-19 deaths. It's only been a little over a year since the pandemic claimed its first victim in California's Santa Clara County. In a statement in honour of the dead, President Joe Biden ordered the American flag to be flown at half-mast in public buildings until Friday sunset.

"We, as a Nation, must remember them so we can begin to heal, to unite, and find purpose as one Nation to defeat this pandemic,"

Biden said in a statement. In honour of all the lives lost, the bells in Washington's National Cathedral rang 500 times in total to symbolize 500,000 deaths. Moments later, Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and their spouses appeared in black clothes and black face masks. They stood quietly, listening to the anthem "Amazing Grace."

That's all for us today, have a beautiful morning and we hope you are taking care of yourselves in this difficult time. Because the writer Ralph Smart summed it up pretty well when he said:

"Health is wealth."
