Rebel through and through

We really enjoy Dominika Kozáková! We always look forward to her shows within the Prague Fashion Week, because we know that we're in for a wild trip that will be anything but boring. This young Slovak designer isn't afraid to "rock the boat", and this year she came out with a collection that is guaranteed to attract your attention... one way or another.

Screw the rules

Dominika Kozáková's world is full of colors, unconventional materials and structures, extravagance and punk. One glance is enough to see that this rebel differs from most of her colleagues, and she avoids established fashion rules as well as the ever so popular minimalism like the plague. Her work is primarily about creativity and uniqueness. Open-minded people or the LGBT crowd will really come into their own here. We need designers like her on the Czech and Slovak fashion scene!

Finding the thin line

Although we decided to completely break free from conservatism and view the new FW20-SS21 collection as pure art, we couldn't help but burst into laughter looking at these models. They certainly won our attention, so kudos for that. But we've given up on trying to figure out what Dominika wants to tell us with these pieces. Maybe that people take life too seriously? Or that walking around the town in a jester hat or dressed up as a mouse is OK? Well, let's move on.

Halfway there

In the case of this model, we are getting a step closer to what at least somewhat resembles dresses as we know them. Just a few minor changes et voilà, we're looking at a luxurious model that will suit most women. Alright, perhaps it will suit some women...

Luxury Prague Life Favorite

Amazing! This outfit is definitely one of the most successful ones we've ever seen come from Dominika Kozáková's mind. Playful, chic and believe it or not... 100% wearable. About to go cycling, for a walk, or downtown? No problem! But perhaps choose something more sophisticated for a dinner. Our country isn't as open-minded yet, and with any luck it never will be...

Nekonečný is back from the dead?

I have to admit that after all those black, gray, occasionally royal blue fashion shows, Dominika Kozáková's show is a shocker. But not in the positive sense. In fact, I'm starting to feel seriously worried whether I'll have anything to wear in the coming months! Everything I own seems to be totally out. Personally, I'm strongly convinced that this young lady is a secret descendant of the late King of Pleasure, Dan Nekonečný...

Everyone knows that the Slovak designer is a bit weird and her free-spirited soul never got out of the rebelious punk-phase. But why on Earth do we have to look at costumes suitable for the carnival in Rio de Janeiro at an event like the Mercedes Benz Prague Fashion Week? Nobody will wear this, I'll bet my shoes on it...

Homeless hippie

Sorry Dominika, but this model, and in fact the entire men's line, reminds me of a homeless bum on a trip who walked in the Salvation Army and grabbed what was left from summer. And it happened to be rags of a Jamaican guy who'd binged on shrooms in Amsterdam and felt like running all the way to Prague, where he died of exhaustion.

Schizophrenic Saxana

People with personality disorder, schizophrenia in particular, might find this collection intriguing. Two personalities, two skirts in one. Why not. If I can't decide which one I and my other self should wear, it's nice to know I can wear both. And I suppose there was a lot of leftover fabric because one sleeve looks longer than the other. Cool, Petra Černocká alias Saxana could keep her arm warm while performing her magic tricks.

I'm a rainbow fairy

This must be what Hanička Zagorová had in mind when writing her song "Rainbow Fairy". Colors of rainbow covering one's entire body. Literally covering it, because this model is so tight you could take it for your morning jogging or to the gym.

People who know me are fully aware that I'm a bit conservative and I wouldn't be caught wearing these even if someone paid me for it, but on the other hand, I'm very tolerant. Let everyone wear what they want. Just please... wear these models only at night, so that the shitload of yellow doesn't blind me. Aside of that, I think Dan Nekonečný would be proud - and he'd have enjoyed the heck of this fashion show.
